In Game Rules


As a player of FlyForFear, you are responsible for knowing all the rules as they pertain to in game and forums. Rules may change without notice. It is vital that you keep yourself updated on all rules and check them regularly.

Your In-Game Account(s)* and Web Account(s)
To the best of our ability and access, we will fully help you with your In-Game and Web Account(s), but if for any reason your account information is compromised due to sharing of information with any source, Fame will not be responsible for items related to that account (this includes but not limited to: donation points, items, characters, guilds). We will not refund any loss of points or restore items lost.

Note: Fear staff will not get involved with in game trades dealing with moving of items based on staff requests.

Creating Account names:

When creating an account/character name(s) the following must be considered:

~ Current Staff (no gm impersonation ~ bannable offense)
~ Objectionable Language (racist, profanity, derogatory, sexual content)

Names that have been created that are deemed inappropriate will be asked to be removed/changed by a Fear staff member.

Procedure for 104 and below: You will have 10 minutes to transfer items and delete the character. A staff member will be monitoring your progress. If you do not comply with the request a ban will be issued.

For levels 105+: You will be summoned to a private location and frozen until a name change scroll can be provided for you. You will have a few minutes to decide on a new appropriately name. The new name must be approved by the staff member and change in the presence of the staff. If you log out or run from the staff member an immediate ban will be issued.

Your In-Game Password and Bank Pin

Your password is designed to be private, as is your bank pin. Fear Staff will never ask for your account name and passsword. Should you give out your password to anybody (such as: phishing sites, friends, gf/bf,family members), Fame will not be held responsible for any unwarranted actions that may occur on your account, such as the deletion of characters, or if items are stolen. We will not restore items.

Game Master/Administrator Impersonation

The impersonation of any Game Master will result in a permanent ban. To avoid having a similar name to a staff member, and therefore getting accused of impersonation please check the staff list before making a character. Also, please note that impersonation is not limited to having a similar name to a member of In-Game staff, but also involves PM'ing users In-Game claiming that you are a member of staff.

To avoid Game Master impersonation, please educate yourself on who the current staff are, and make sure that they are who you are talking to In-Game. You may use %gmlist (type in chat bar).
Please also remember that a Game Master will never ask for your personal details(Account Information), and won't ask for an item in exchange for anything else on their Game Masters character. Game Masters will also speak in a professional manner In-Game, and not use any form of slang.

Staff tooling

Claiming to know a Staff Member In-Game, and using them to gain an edge in an argument (i.e. I know... And he'll/she'll ban you) is Staff Tooling, and will be dealt with a permanent ban. If you do know a Game Master, then you should know that they won't ban without a very good reason, and indeed will not take sides when involved in a player dispute.

Disrespect Toward Staff Members

Severe disrespect toward a Game Master may result in forced disconnection, a mute, or a ban, depending on how serious the disrespect is. Remember that the staff are volunteering their time and efforts to help make Fame a better place for you. Respect their authority, as they have been given it for a reason. Should you have any problem with the way a member of staff is treating you, please do not show them disrespect, rather report them as appropriate. Please contact RoyalHighness (Lead In Game),Sephern (Lead Forums) or Arcanine (Lead Developer) with reports via forum (provide screenshots if possible).

Restoration of Items:
Staff members will not restore items lost in trades,mail system, scams, account sharing, accidentally trashing, selling to NPC, failures while upgrading, or rollbacks. Your items are your responsibility. Please take extreme caution when working with your items.

Hint: If you have gained or sold an item that you feel is with worth keeping or you gained levels, be sure to relog and save it to the memory (cache).

Shops in Flaris and the Arena

Due to the lag and to the popularity of Flaris and the Arena, no shops are permitted.
First Offense: GM warning, possible disconnect.
Second Offense: Ban

AFK Farming/AoE-ing

Being in an area and going Away From Keyboard (AFK) or just not being at your computer while having your character continuously cast an Area Of Effect (AoE) attack to kill all the monsters around you to collect items or gather Experience Points is not allowed. A Game Master will also check to see if the player is actually AFK by talking in general chat and or private message. You must respond to the Game Master calling. First offense will be a forced disconnection and a second offense will be a ban.

Kill Stealing (KS):
This is not a bannable offense unless it gets to the point of harassment (see rules under harassment). You may find a Game Mast by using %gmlist. If no Game Masters are available you may document your harassment and post in the Staff Support section. Screen shots are needed that includes: talking to the person asking not to ks, server switching and having the KSer follow (be sure to show your server switch). Switching servers must be shown in the screen shots. You must report this to a GM. Be descriptive of what
happened in the incident.

In the Predator cluster*, Ksing must clearly show evidence of a harassment. Provide proof by screen shots. You may report this to an online GM (you can find them by %gmlist or providing evidence in the Staff Support section). If they are able, they can come observe activity and take appropriate actions.


Looting:
Timers are built into the game on Arch and Prediction (3 minutes). If a person does not pick up their drops before the looter times it is fair game for anyone to pick up. Note: if a person is in your party, he does have access to your drops and is not consider looting.

In Crysis (Pk Server), there is not looting time. Anyone can pick up your drops.

Alpha Clockworks:
This is a public monster. Anyone can come up and fight with you and pick up
your drops. When fighting this monster, you run the risk of Kill Stealing and Looting. Being the first one to attack the monster does not claim you rights to this monster.

Crysis (Pk Server):
PK stands for People Killing. When you are in this server, you may get killed by anyone at any time. The rules that are held in Arch and Prediction regarding Ks and Looting are not enforce unless it gets to the point of harassment (see rules under harassment).


Spam

Any spam In-Game (i.e. repeatedly saying the same thing in general, shout, party, guild, private chat, guildwar repetitive) Max is 5 lines/min. Spammers will be punished with a warning, mute and possible ban, regardless of whether it is hot keyed or not. If it is a first offense, you will be warned to stop spamming the chat. If you do not respond or you repeat the offense, you will be muted for one hour. Please be aware that if your character has been muted, the timer will only count down when the offending character is online.

Websites or advertisements is an immediate ban. Fear currently has a security system in place that picks up unsolicited advertisements that promote or encourage players to go to sites that offers hacks, freebies, redemption of points, etc.

Selling of penya/items/accounts via in game or forums for any type of currency is forbidden and will result in an immediate ban.


AFK Shout
Players that are sending messages with the words [AFK, leave message,etc] will be disconnected from the server. Players may post here to increase their chances of selling/buying or finding a partner or guild.

Scams
Fear staff will not be accountable for any lost items or penya due to scamming activity. It is the responsibility of the buyer/seller to verify all transactions before finalization. This includes, but not limited to: party stealing, trades, selling of accounts, and mail fraud.

Harassment

Harassment can come in many forms, and all will result in a ban. Depending on how serious the offense is, the ban length may differ but it will usually be a permanent ban. If you are being harassed by any user or staff member, please provide evidence (in the form of a screenshot or video) to a Game Master, who will deal with it accordingly.

Methods of harassment may include-

-Being followed server to server for purposes such as stealing spawns or verbally insulting in general chat.
-Verbally Repeatedly PM'ing or whispering someone In-Game with threats or insults.
-Repetitive Arena killing does not fall under the terms of harassment however verbal harassment still apply.

Harassment is not limited to just this, and any form of harassment will be dealt with very seriously.

Hacking or Bug Exploitation

Using any form of third party software, or exploiting any server related glitch to get an advantage over other players will result in an immediate ban. This will result in a permanent ban, with no questions asked. Using phishing sites and or applications to obtain server wide or individual account information is completely forbidden, and if ever found expect to be MAC banned forever.

Exemption: Although AoE Glitching was previously an offense, this is no longer the case (ie: jumping on a toothed wheel in the slip and slide cave and aoeing)


Donations

Donation rewards are a privilege not a right. The owners reserve the right to deny, refund, or keep your item if they wish to do so. When donating you're awarded a thank you gift for your contributions to our servers. If, for any reason, you contribution is refunded, withheld, or back charged, your accounts will be frozen and/or terminated 'till further notice. By donating you fully understand their are no refunds given for any reason.

Appealing an in-game ban

Before posting a ban appeal please refresh yourself on the in-game rules listed above
If you would like to appeal a in-game ban please post it within the Staff Support

When a character is banned the whole account is banned including any other characters on it if
you were not notified ingame prior to the ban an do not know the reason please name all of the
characters within the account that was banned. The account login password are not needed and
never give them out including to staff.

What to post in a Ban Appeal:
Thread Title: Ban Appeal : [ Character Name ][other characters on that same account]

Date of ban or date you noticed the ban:

Ban appeal: [Your side or explanation of what happened, provide screenshots if you have any]

Please remember to remain calm an explain your side of the story, there is no reason for insults
or accusation just explain Who | What | Where | When, the ban occurred so we may discuss the
situation. Only the Lead GM and owners will lift in game bans following a
review of all evidence. Ban appeals are not to be discussed in the general forum.

You always have a right to appeal a ban.

When to submit a ban appeal for review (this does not guarantee the ban will be lifted):
Objectionable name (not including gm impersonation): 2 weeks
GM Impersonation (similiar name, disrespect): 4 weeks
GM Impersonation (staff tooling, phishing sites) 8 weeks
Shops in Flaris: 2 weeks
AFK farming: 2 weeks
Harrassment of a Fellow Player: 4 weeks
Spamming General Chat: 2 weeks
Hacking or Bug Exploitation: 12 weeks

Forums:


General Rules
Respect all other members and staff. All users are to be treated the same, regardless of any group or demographic they may belong to.
Rudeness, insults, personal attacks and any other derogatory content (collectively known as 'Flaming') is not permitted. Any of this content will require staff interference.
Please refrain from posting meaningless or pointless posts and threads.
Multiple or repeat posting is not allowed.
Spamming and trolling/flame-baiting is not permitted anywhere on the forums, including in blogs, visitor messages, or PMs.
Advertising is not permitted outside of the signature. Only 1 link may be placed within the signature, and staff reserve the right to remove any links they believe reference anything inappropriate.
Please wait an acceptable amount of time before bumping threads. There are particular rules regarding this in the 'In-Game' section, and these should be read before posting.
Pornographic or discriminatory content is not permitted. The staff reserve the right to remove any content they believe violates the community standards.
Discussion of illegal activities is not permitted.
Each member is only allowed one forum account.
Offensive posts, or those that violate the rules or Terms of Service will be removed without warning.
If you can't post English, post in your relevant section.
While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure the forums remain within how the fame staff desire the board to operate.
Access to these boards is a privilege not a right. We will ban anybody who violates these rules, or anybody that we see fit to ban.
Bans are not to be discussed in public. There's not a great deal a normal member can do about a ban, so it should be taken up with a person of relevant authority (usually a Game Master).
Confidential information on users is not to be posted. Please note that if it can be found on the Internet, its not confidential.
Any attempts to circumvent a ban will lead to a permanent ban to any Accounts linked to that IP, and possibly an IP ban.
Any members posting simply to sell or advertise materials is not allowed. Advertising your website must be kept to one thread in the "Chat/Spam" forum, your signature or your profile. Don't harass members via private message or pager to join your website.
Sharing of real names or addresses are not allowed for the safety of our members.
Please note that these rules are not conclusive, and there may be individual rules pertaining to some sections. You will be informed of these through the relevant means (such as individual section sticked threads) wherever possible. In addition to these rules, please use common sense when using the boards, as some behaviour may result in your access from the boards being suspended.


Signature Rules
You are not permitted more than 10 lines normal size and 20 lines small size.
Do not use images with large text to bypass the previous item
For images in signatures: Images cannot be larger than 300 pixels high, by 600 wide.
If more than one image is used, the combined image dimensions should not be greater than 300x600.
No nudity or racial slurs.
Nothing hard on the eyes or disgusting to the public.
Reporting Violation
If you wish to report someone breaking the forum rules, you can do so by either reporting a post, or PM'ing a moderator or Forum Administrator.
Please do not quote any questionable content, as it makes a moderator’s job more difficult. Similarly, responding to such content is strongly discouraged.
If, for whatever reason, you do not understand and/or we don't state a rule in a situation you are unsure is safe, please contact any Forum Administrator or Game Master immediately.



Staff Rules

Game Masters are not able to do the following::
Use your GM character to powerlevel another player.
Spending too much time on your GM character in the arena. While we understand that you will occasionally need to take a break or check the arena for shops, we ask that you don't spend the majority of your online time in there.
Harass nor disrespect players in anyway shape or form.
Joining legit guilds with your GM character. Your GM character will be invited to 'GameMaster' shortly after the creation of your GM character and must remain there until you either step down as a GM or are fired.
Taking part in Guild Siege with your GM character.
Give out spawned items to ANYBODY.
Moving players around with the summoning command is generally forbidden. The only times we allow it to be used on the general population is to either pull the player to GM desert to talk about a problem in private, moving players to the world designated for the Guild Raid, approved events, or to get a player unstuck.
Do not use the /stat command to raise your stats.
Use any weapons or items, besides your approved CS set or items that have not been approved
Do not Stack awakens.
Cannot spawn monsters unless for an event or approved by Lead or Owners.
System notices are to be used only for communicating with the general population.

If you are caught doing any of the previous listings, you will be banned and stripped of rank. Depending on the severity of the offense, expect a regular ban to a MAC Ban or Serial Ban.

All rules apply to all players and staff with the exception of TheFeared.
